The Founder and Chief Executive Officer of God’s Grace Orphanage and Motherless Babies Home, Mrs. Kate Okunrobo Odianese, has expressed deep gratitude to God and to all partners whose unwavering support has sustained the vision of the home, as the organisation marked its 3rd anniversary in Benin City.

Speaking during a press briefing held on Friday, October 24, at the orphanage’s residence in Evbukhun Community, off Sapele Road, Benin City, Okunrobo described the milestone as a testament to divine faithfulness, consistency, and the resilience of kindhearted individuals committed to the welfare of orphans, and the less privileged.

“My heart is filled with joy and gratitude to God Almighty as we celebrate our 3rd anniversary as a family and as a foundation. This milestone victory is nothing short of a miracle and a testament to God’s faithfulness, considering the storms and challenges we have overcome,” Okunrobo said.

She commended the partners and stakeholders who have stood by the home since inception, describing them as pillars of strength and progress.

“They have been part of our story from the very beginning and have remained steadfast in adding value to the success of God’s Grace Orphanage and Motherless Babies Home,” she added.

Okunrobo reaffirmed her commitment to the vision of nurturing orphans and underprivileged children into responsible, God-fearing leaders, noting that the work is neither a business nor a government project but a divine calling.

“Running an orphanage is not a business, as many suppose. It is a special calling by God through compassionate individuals to carry out His assignment of transforming the lives of the helpless and downtrodden,” she stated.

Recounting her motivation, the founder shared personal experiences of sacrifice and empathy.

“I just couldn’t watch young children suffer neglect and abuse, having experienced similar challenges growing up. This orphanage has been a life of sacrifice — I once sold my valuables to support our humanitarian work. It’s truly a matter of the heart,” she said.

Drawing inspiration from scripture, Okunrobo quoted John 14:18, emphasizing the divine mandate to care for orphans and the less privileged.

“Jesus said, ‘I will not leave you as orphans.’ This shows how deeply He cares for their comfort and wellbeing. I’m grateful to all caregivers, including our main guard, for their heartfelt service to our children,” she remarked.

Okunrobo concluded with a message of hope and unity.

“Together, we will continue to rise higher and put smiles on the faces of the young orphans, widows, and underprivileged children that God has placed in our care. Thank you, and God bless you.”
