Our Review its Darkseid … n thanos without his army or gauntlet is done for with his gauntlet he stands a very slim chance . ‘Seid is a “god” Level Entity from the imagination of DC writers bordering on the old skyfathers Old gods like highfather who darkseid cant match . pretty certain Jack Kirby wanted Darkseid to be the Top Dog Celeb Villian for DC . As for Thanos he is just a Mad Titan that still does hand to hand combat until he got his stones which he doestn have else we all wont be here 🙂

INTRO
Darkseid is a multiversal force. As the God of Evil, Darkseid can’t die. However, he can be beaten for a time. It’s just very difficult. To begin with, one has to figure out how to destroy his body – which has been shown to create a black hole that sucks the entire multiverse into it. However, he’s still not dead then, and his soul can get into another body. Leave him in any body for too long, and he’ll reach full power in a matter of time. It is possible to destroy his soul, but it takes a very specific sound frequency to do so. It takes a lot to kill Darkseid, and it’s doubtful Thanos can figure all of that out before Darkseid destroys him.

In the pantheon of comic book villains, few characters rival the sheer menace and power of Darkseid and Thanos. Created by comic book legends Jack Kirby and Jim Starlin, respectively, these two titans of evil have not only terrorized their respective universes but have also captured the imaginations of fans worldwide. This article delves into their origins, powers, adventures, and interactions with iconic heroes such as Superman, Odin, Thor, Highfather, and the Hulk, ultimately exploring the timeless question: who is stronger?
Origins
Darkseid
Darkseid, the ruler of Apokolips, made his debut in DC Comics’ Superman’s Pal Jimmy Olsen #134 (1970). Created by Jack Kirby as part of his groundbreaking “Fourth World” saga, Darkseid embodies the concept of ultimate tyranny. Born Uxas, he seized the power of the Omega Force, transforming into Darkseid. His ultimate goal is to eliminate free will in the universe by discovering the Anti-Life Equation, a formula that grants control over all sentient beings.
Thanos
Thanos, a member of the Eternals of Titan, first appeared in Marvel Comics’ The Invincible Iron Man #55 (1973). Created by Jim Starlin, Thanos is driven by nihilistic philosophy and an insatiable desire for power. Inspired by Kirby’s Darkseid, Thanos seeks to court Mistress Death, a cosmic entity, and has wielded the Infinity Gauntlet to devastating effect, erasing half of all life in the universe during the iconic Infinity Gauntlet storyline.
Powers and Abilities
Darkseid’s Powers
Darkseid’s power stems from his status as a New God and his connection to the Omega Force. His abilities include:
- Omega Beams: Devastating energy blasts capable of disintegrating, teleporting, or trapping targets in alternate dimensions.
- Superhuman Strength: Rivaling Superman, Darkseid can engage in physical combat with the strongest heroes.
- Immortality: As a god-like being, Darkseid is effectively immortal.
- Mind Control and Telepathy: His connection to the Anti-Life Equation grants him unparalleled abilities to dominate others’ wills.
- Tactical Genius: Darkseid is a master strategist, often manipulating events across galaxies to achieve his goals.
Thanos’ Powers
Thanos’ Eternal lineage, enhanced by scientific augmentation, makes him one of Marvel’s most formidable villains. His powers include:
- Superhuman Strength and Durability: Capable of battling beings like the Hulk and Thor.
- Energy Manipulation: Thanos can project energy blasts powerful enough to destroy planets.
- Immortality: Death itself has cursed Thanos with immortality, ensuring he cannot die.
- Genius-Level Intellect: A brilliant tactician and scientist.
- Infinity Gauntlet: When equipped with the six Infinity Stones, Thanos achieves omnipotence, omniscience, and omnipresence.
Adventures and Conflicts
Darkseid’s Interactions
Darkseid’s quest for the Anti-Life Equation has brought him into conflict with numerous heroes, including:
- Superman: As Darkseid’s most frequent adversary, Superman has thwarted the tyrant’s plans on multiple occasions. Their battles often shake the fabric of reality itself.
- Highfather: Darkseid’s counterpart on New Genesis, Highfather leads the forces of good against Apokolips in an eternal struggle.
- The Justice League: Darkseid’s attempts to conquer Earth have led to epic confrontations with the League, particularly in the Final Crisis and Justice League: War storylines.
Thanos’ Interactions
Thanos’ pursuit of power has pitted him against many of Marvel’s greatest heroes:
- Thor and Odin: Asgard’s champions have repeatedly battled Thanos, with Odin once defeating him in a spectacular confrontation.
- The Avengers: The Mad Titan’s quest for the Infinity Stones culminated in the Infinity War and Endgame arcs, where Earth’s mightiest heroes joined forces to stop him.
- The Hulk: Their encounters showcase Thanos’ superior combat skills and strategic mind.
Who Is Stronger?
Determining the stronger character depends on the context:
- Physical Strength: Both Darkseid and Thanos possess immense strength, capable of overpowering most opponents. However, Darkseid’s godly nature may give him a slight edge.
- Powers: Darkseid’s Omega Beams and mastery of the Anti-Life Equation could potentially outmatch Thanos’ energy manipulation—unless Thanos wields the Infinity Gauntlet.
- Intellect and Strategy: Both are genius tacticians, though Darkseid’s millennia of ruling Apokolips may provide greater experience.
Final Verdict
While both villains are titanic threats, the ultimate victor may depend on the scenario. Without the Infinity Gauntlet, Darkseid’s divine nature and access to the Omega Force might prove decisive. However, with the Gauntlet, Thanos’ omnipotence would make him virtually unstoppable.
In the end, their respective universes ensure these characters remain unparalleled forces of chaos and destruction, endlessly challenging the heroes who dare to oppose them. Fans can continue to debate, but one thing is certain: Darkseid and Thanos are the epitome of cosmic villainy, each leaving an indelible mark on the world of comics and beyond.
