“”The podcast where Bovi shared that his son broke 3 of his TVs has been making the rounds, with a lot of backlash on Bovi, because he said he didn’t hit his child any of those 3 times..
I don’t blame those who are attacking him though. It is not typical to see a child break TVs just for the sake of it. It sounds outrageous and rightfully so..because they lack the requisite insight.
If I didn’t have a child with special needs, I possibly wouldn’t be able to understand it either.
The moment I saw that podcast clip, I said to myself, Bovi’s child must be one with special needs.
How did I know?
Bovi’s child broke 3 TVs..
My own Timeyin BROKE 5 Tvs…
FIVE!!!
Timoshians will vividly recall me crying in a post here, about this time, 2yrs ago, when Timmy broke a brand new massive smart TV I just got not quite 3weeks before.
What happened? He was watching youtube, Fibre one’s internet had a downtime, the game show Timmy was watching froze, in that moment he couldn’t regulate his emotions, and to let of that steam, he flung the remote at the TV and broke it..
The other 4 TVs he broke were for similar reasons.
He was watching cartoons, cartoon ended. Why must it end? He threw his toy car at it and broke the TV.
He was playing video games, he lost the game. Got angry.. smashed the TV..
So on and so forth.. Timmy be smashing screens from the days of plasma to the days of smart screens..
And guess what? Bovi’s child is speech impaired, Timeyin is both hearing and speech impaired.
I have 2 sons, Timeyin is the younger of my 2sons and his older brother never broke a TV in his life.
So understand that the action exhibited by Bovi’s child arises from his special needs.
And beating will change nothing..
My son broke my 5 TVs, I never hit him once. As a matter of fact the 5th TV he broke 2yrs ago, I was so pained cos it was brand new..
I locked myself in my room and wept terribly. I was so m@d that my hands were shaking, but I ensured that I stayed away from him untill I could calm myself down..
This is what it means to parent a child with special needs.. Bovi understand’s the assignment, and those attacking him are just ignorant.
Dear Bovi, don’t worry. Just like my Timmy, your son will outgrow his outbursts and be able to regulate his emotions a lot better very soon.””
May the Lord give all the special needs Parents the strength and Grace they need to parent their kids.
