Inspired by Dennis Osadebey’s Who Buys My Thoughts
Will you buy my thoughts,Even if they are dark, dreary and daily torturedUnder the heavy weight of life’s endless struggles?
Will you buy my thought,Even if it’s the thumping heartbeat of sufferingAdministered to my people in small but potent portionsBy the vagabonds that claim to be in power?

Will you buy my thoughtIf it’s a canvas of faces painted with the rough brushes of agonising,Starving, unclothed infants whose ‘pregnant’ little bellies reek of malnutrition?
Will you buy my thoughts if they drag you down the deep dungeon of head-turning despair,The type that grips your gut when you hear that hunger made your neighbour hang himself?
Will you still buy my thoughtsEven if they keep you awake at night,Not because your eyes are not heavy with sleepBut ’cause sleeping means returning to the nightmare of hollow eyes crying for help while your hands are cuffed behind?

Will you also buy my thoughtsIf they throb to the mismatched melody of war drums,Calling on trained and untrained warriors from dawn to dusk and dusk to dawnTo retrieve the throne the oppressors grabbed with treachery?
Those who buy my thoughts must fasten their beltsAnd prepare for a rocky ride into the rumbling earthquake of impossible hope.
