Ifechukwu Tom Makwe, a fake senator with several other identities, has been arrested for alleged internet fraud in Abuja.
As seen in a Twitter post by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Monday, Makwe defrauded a Spaniard of €5.7million.
Claiming to be a US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agent and a diplomatic solicitor, the EFCC stated, Makwe used fake identities to defraud his victim.
Makwe allegedly started defrauding the victim in 2013, when he first met her on social media.

The EFCC also disclosed that the suspect had many aliases, which are ‘ ‘Fahad Makwe’, ‘Senator Tompolo’, ‘Tom Makwe’ and ‘Dr. Bran’.
“Makwe was arrested at the Guzape area of Abuja following credible intelligence about his internet-related fraud activities,” stated the EFCC.
“He will be charged to court as soon as the investigations are concluded.”
